9 Fault Recognition and Rectification
9.1 Basic instructions
The following tables are intended to assist in locating faults.
Fault messages are classified in these categories:
■ Fault: The Fault symbol illuminates red, error code illuminates, see chapter 9.2.
■ Maintenance: The Maintenance symbol illuminates yellow, see chapter 10.2.2.
■ Warning: The Warning LED illuminates yellow, see chapter 9.2.
The messages valid for your machine are dependent on the controller and individual equipment.
1. Do not attempt fault rectification measures other than those given in this operating manual!
2. In all other cases,
have the fault rectified by an authorised KAESER SERVICE TECHNICIAN.
9.2 Fault messages (machine shut down)
The network pressure is constantly shown in the display.
When a fault occurs the machine switches off and the error code is constantly displayed.
The
ON LED illuminates yellow (item 7, see chapter 4.5).

1 Pressure transducer open circuit. Call KAESER SERVICE.
2 Fault in communication with compressor motor. Call KAESER SERVICE.
3 Compressor motor blocked. Call KAESER SERVICE.
4 Fault in the power electronics. Call KAESER SERVICE.
5 Earth fault. Call KAESER SERVICE.
6 Overvoltage in the power electronics. Check mains supply.
7 Undervoltage in the power electronics. Check mains supply.
8 Phase drop-out only for 3-phase motor Check mains supply.
Call KAESER SERVICE.
9 Rotor location/rotor positioning malfunctions Call KAESER SERVICE.
10 Mains voltage too low. Check mains supply.
Call KAESER SERVICE.
11 Peak current fault
The machine shuts down when the motor current
rises above a defined limit value (even if only tempo‐
rarily).
Call KAESER SERVICE.
12 Motor start fault
Shutdown because motor does not turn despite the
command
ONand the setpoint >0 rpm.
Call KAESER SERVICE.
13 Temperature fault, thermal overload. Reduce the ambient temperature.
Check cooling air supply.
Shut down consumer.
