GPS Antenna
When selecting a mounting location for the antenna, keep in mind the following points.
Select a location out of the radar beam. The radar beam will obstruct or prevent reception of the GPS
satellite signal.
There should be no interfering object within the line-of-sight to the satellites. Objects within the line-
of-sight to a satellite, for example a mast, may block reception or prolong acquisition time.
Mount the antenna unit as high as possible to keep it free of interfering objects and water spray,
which can interrupt reception of GNSS satellite signal if the water freezes.
The Transponder is delivered as standard with a Sanav SA-200 GPS
antenna with stainless steel stand and 15 meter cable with TNC
connectors in both ends for direct connection between
transponder and antenna.
The antenna can be mounted with three 6 mm bolts.
When Standalone GPS antenna is used, an additional VHF antenna
must also be connected
For detailed description of this antenna, see chapter 15.4.
Calculation of cable length/attenuation etc is described in chapter 8.2
