Physical Elements Panel
The Physical Elements Panel displays one or more enclosures that are in the
storage system. The enclosures show the physical layout of the drives in the
system. The top most enclosure is the Main Enclosure and where the main RAID
controller is housed. The software will display one or more sub-enclosures
stacked below the Main Enclosure.
The status of each drive is apparent based on the icon that appears on it. A critical
drive will show a yellow tag and a failed drive will show a circled X on the drive
(see

There is also an Enclosure Information Box that, depending on the size of the
Physical Elements Panel, is either below the enclosure or on the right side of it.
This box is subdivided into three regions: Enclosure Information, Controller
Information, and Element Status Information, (see
– ) in Chapter 2.
