Assigning a Dedicated Hot-Spare after Creating an Array

If you already have created the array, you can still easily assign a dedicated hot-
spare by accessing the configuration work area.

Click on the blue box that corresponds to the enclosure number and the slot
number of the drive intended for the dedicated hot-spare.(More than one drive
can be selected) The numbers in the Encl and Slot columns tell the location of the
drive you are planning to use (see

Right-click on the array icon and click on Dedicated Hot-Spare Config in the
drop menu, which will display the Dedicated Hot-Spare Configuration Window
(see

). Option: You may also click on the Array tab from the menu bar

to access the drop-down menu, or the Create Array button to access the Create
Array Window.
