9. Confi gure holding brake

If the holding brake shall be connected alternatively to connector X5 OUT5 ... 8, the mapping of the respec-

tive output has to be set to 0x21240020. AndMask and CmpMask specify the respective output. Th e settings 

are done in the menu „Device Confi guration -> Digital Output Confi guration“.

11. Switch on DC link circuit

0,5  s aft er switching on the power supply the DC link circuit relay can be switched on. Th erefore, a voltage 

of + 24V has to be applied across pins REL+ and REL - of connector X11.

12. Set „Switch On“ bit in the control word

Th e drive is switched on by soft ware.

ECOSTEP54 is controlled via the control word and the status word. In this menu, the bits of both are dis-

played for each axis separately and the control word can be modifi ed.

13. Set „Enable Operation“ bit in the control word

Th e drive is ready now for further commands. Th e drive can be switched off  any time by resetting the „En-

able Operation“ bit.
