Front Cover Drain Bolt

Using a 6 mm allen wrench, remove the drain

plug and let any accumulated water drain.

NOTE:

During this operation, stay away from the area

under the drain plug to prevent being splashed

by water draining out.
After draining the front timing belt cover, clean

the drain plug threads and the respective

threads on the timing belt cover and securely

tighten the drain plug.
If the water was very muddy, eliminate all

obstructions (mud and leaves) from the radiator

to prevent the risk of overheating. If the car is

frequently used to cross relatively deep water,

check that none of the oils or fluids are

contaminated with water, contaminated oil

appears milky. Also check that the air cleaner

element is dry; if it is wet, replace it. See an

authorized dealer.

If you frequently drive through seawater, use a

pump and freshwater to carefully wash all

undercarriage components and all exposed

body panels.

NOTE:

Never operate under the vehicle unless it is

parked safely and with the wheels blocked

using chocks.
