If  the  indication/confirmation  channel  is  deactivated,  host  located  variables
can’t  be  supported.  Before  creating  records  or  array  variable  types  at  Ether-
CAT,  the  first  element  (describing  the  structure)  has  to  be  set  to  avoid  auto-
matic host placement. It is recommended to use the acyclic area in this case.
It has to be considered that PROFINET uses indications to signal module and
submodule configuration states.

3.3.2 Administration queues

The number of administration queues (

ABM_cfg_NUM_QUEUE_ELEMENTS

) can

be scaled from 1 to a maximum of 128 (default setting). A value of 1 only al-
lows using one service channel in each direction at a time. With values greater
than 1, parallel services are supported. In combination with disabling the ser-
vice channels it can also be set to zero (see 3.3.1).

3.3.3 Memory management

The payload of a service consists of service header size and data content. If
the maximum is less or equal than

segmentation of services is not necessary, and the memory resources man-
aged at GEO.c can be reduced.
