5.5 Transmitting on Conventional Vehicle Networks
We can transmit on CAN networks almost as easily as we can receive on them. All that is
necessary is to create a transmit message and then tell Vehicle Spy to send it.
Here’s the process, which is similar to the one we followed in Section 5.2 for transmitting on
Ethernet networks:
1. Switch to the Messages Editor:
Select
Messages Editor
from the
Spy Networks
menu,
or click the
Messages Editor
tab from the tab list near the top of VSpy.
2. Select the HS CAN Network:
Select “HS CAN” from the
on Network
drop-down box, if
it is not already selected.
3. Switch to the Transmit Side of the Messages Editor:
Click the
button,
which will change to have blue highlighting.
