5.2 Transmitting to a Node on a Tapped Ethernet Link
The RAD-Galaxy not only allows you to monitor the two-way traffic on a link that it is tapping,
but to participate in the discussion by transmitting to either of the nodes. We’ll now continue
with the example from the previous section, extending it by creating a custom message within
Vehicle Spy that we’ll send to the device acting as a server. That device will respond back in
the same manner that it does for requests from the BroadR-Reach client node.
Assuming we still have the same setup from Section 5.1, this is actually very easy to do,
because we can simply copy the receive message we previously created to the transmit side
of the
Messages Editor
and tailor it to our needs.
1. Switch to the Messages Editor:
Select
Messages Editor
from the
Spy Networks
menu,
or click the
Messages Editor
tab from the tab list near the top of VSpy.
2. Select RAD-Galaxy Channel 1 Network:
Select “OP (BR) ETH01” from the
on
Network
drop-down box, if it is not already selected.
