Chapter 25 Test Mode

Having entered the Setup Mode this way, you can read or
change the parameters that the printer normally is set for. This
implies that even though the printer still works with default
communication setup, the Setup Mode will show the original
communication values.
Switching off the power and restarting the printer will reset
the printer to the setup values which it had before you entered
the Test Mode. However, any changes made in the immediate
mode to setup values or fi les in the printer’s RAM memory will
not be reset.
Enter the Test Mode as follows (also see diagram on next two
pages):
• Switch off the printer.
• Lift the printhead.
• Press the <Print> key and keep pressing it.
• Switch on the power. Keep on pressing <Print>.
• Wait a few moments until this message appears in the
display:
TESTMODE:
TESTPRINT
• Release the <Print> key and lower the printhead.
• Follow the instructions in the diagrams on the next two
pages.
• You can exit the Test Mode in two different ways:
1. By switching off the power.
The printer can be started up again with no changes made to
its original setup values or RAM memory.
2. By pressing the <Setup> key (EasyCoder 501 E/LL) or the
<U> key (EasyCoder 501 SA).
The printer will enter the Intermec Fingerprint's immediate
mode with its communication reset to default (see above).
