The machine sign on the printer's rear plate provides information
on type, part number, and serial number.

The voltage switch indicates the mains voltage for which the
printer is set up (115 or 230 VAC). Always check this switch before
connecting the printer!

You can also detect if the printer is fi tted with any optional inter-
face board by means of the additional connectors on the rear
plate:

For further inspection of interfaces, the Electronics compartment
must be opened, as explained later in this chapter.
