Cooling Fans
The system has two thermally controlled 92 mm 12 V DC cooling fans. One fan is mounted in a
housing at the bottom front of the base unit chassis. Another fan is mounted to the upper back of
the base unit chassis under the system’s power supply. Both fans pressurize the chassis and force
warm air out of the base unit’s vents.
The chassis fans are field replaceable. See Chapter 10, “Servicing System Components,” for
details on replacing the chassis fans.
CAUTION
Arrows on each fan indicate airflow direction and rotation. Ensure each fan has the
airflow arrow pointing into the chassis to ensure proper cooling.
The power supply contains its own cooling fan, which is not field replaceable. If the power supply
fan requires replacement, you must replace the power supply. See Chapter 10, “Servicing System
Components,” for details on replacing the power supply.
