General Troubleshooting
Description of Fault
Solution
Silicone tubing herniates or
balloons and prevents
pumping of fluid
Filling ambulatory pumps or other elastomeric pumps; use Heavy Duty tubing
(BX series)
Using smaller than 16 G needle; switch to 16 G needle or reduce the speed of
the pump to reduce the back pressure.
Using inline filter; reduce speed to reduce back pressure.
Tubing kicks out of the pump
Too much back pressure for the speed (use of needles, filters or filling units).
Decrease back pressure or lower speed.
Tubing was not installed correctly.
Consistently inaccurate filling
Use the calibration function.
Inaccurate filling, not
repeatable (varies), for
example, due to unequal back
pressure because of
18 G needle or filter
Lower the speed.
Does not pump and makes
loud grinding noise; tubing is
herniated and preventing
rollers from moving
Decrease back pressure (use larger needle or remove filter).
Lower the speed of the unit.
Use “BX” series tubing.
Pump display is dark
Check Power Cord and ensure connection
