Appendix A: Cleaning and Disinfection of the Diana Peristaltic Pump
Switch off the power supply of the Diana Peristaltic Pump.
The operator must wear proper protective equipment (PPE) when operating the System and adhere to
facility protocols and standards for operating compounding equipment.
Spilled liquids must be wiped promptly to avoid liquid ingress into the pump. When the surface of the
Diana Peristaltic Pump has heavy soiling, a cleaning step is recommended prior to applying a disinfectant.
Cleaning and disinfecting shall occur before the pump is in use.
Use lint-free cloths or swabs only. Do not use abrasive materials. Clean the areas of Diana Peristaltic
Pump that are located under the stainless steel plate, rollers, flap (ensure unit is turned off prior to
cleaning).
Following are the recommendation on cleaning and disinfection:
Step. 1
–
wipe the appliance with sterile water (for injection or irrigation) with low-shedding wipes.
Allow the unit to dry before performing the next step.
Step. 2
–
wipe the appliance with isopropyl alcohol (60-95%) with low-shedding wipes or swabs

all surfaces prior to the start of compounding activities. Allow to dry before fluid transfer begins.
