• GPS Setup

Fix Mode

Set the GPS fix mode.

• 3D : “GPS 3D Fix” will activate when more than 4

GPS satellites are detected.

• 2D/3D : “GPS 3D Fix” will activate when more than

4 GPS satellites are detected, or “GPS 2D

Fix” will activate when 3 GPS satellites are

detected.

• GPS Setup

—

SBAS Mode

The SBAS (Satellite Based Augmentation System)

transmits signals to correct errors and improve accu-

racy and reliability in data received from regular GPS
satellites. When this function is ON, the corrected data

can be used.

• OFF : The SBAS function is OFF.
• ON : The SBAS function is ON.

NOTE:

When the SBAS satellite signal is received,

“SDGPS 3D Fix” or “SDGPS 2D Fix” will activate.

SBAS Search Mode

Set the SBAS search function to “Manual” or “Auto.”
This function should normally be set to “Auto.”

• Manual : You have to manually select the SBAS sat

ellite.

This option can be useful when your vessel

is in an area where 2 satellite zones over

lap.

• Auto

: The MXP-5000 automatically searches for

the SBAS satellite that is determined ac

cording to the position of your vessel.

• GPS Setup

When “Manual” option is selected in the “SBAS Search
Mode,” you should manually select the SBAS Satellite
which covers the zone your vessel is monitoring.
