2.1. INTRODUCTION
♦
The relay includes :
- a basic metal case comprising the internal step-down transformers and the power terminal block
(current and voltage case earth).
- a withdrawable metal case comprising the electronic components and low voltage input and output
connectors.
♦
The basic case can be connected in advance to the CT measurement and then receive the
withdrawable part (the connection is provided for 4 mm² maximum cables).
♦
The wiring of the low voltage inputs and outputs to the withdrawable electronic module can be
prepared in advance on the 18-pin female connectors. The connection provides for 18 wires of 1 mm²
maximum. These connectors are fitted with a plastic cover, and 2 screws are used to attach them to
the male connectors of the withdrawable electronic module.
♦
A grey frame around the front panel is provided with an upper and a lower recess. It makes relay
inserting and withdrawing easier.
♦
A locating pin located at the rear of the withdrawable module is used to position the electronic
module in the basic case. The two parts are locked together by means of a knurled screw.
To insert the device :
- insert, then slightly push the electronic module until the centering pin offers a resistance. Then
fully push till reaching the stops, and lock the device by using the knurled screw located at the
rear.
Note
: if the electrical connection between the basic case and the withdrawable part is not properly
established, a fault message shall appear on the display during self-tests on auxiliary voltage
application, and the Watchdog is activated.
To withdraw the device :
- Unscrew and unplug the rear female connectors.
- Unlock the knurled screw located at the rear.
- Get hold of the grey frame of the front panel by inserting hands in the upper and lower recess.
- Extract the module by pulling forward.
