Installing the system board assembly
To install the system board assembly, complete the following steps:
1. Install all of the components in the following list that were removed from the old
system board assembly onto the new system board assembly.
v
Concurrent KVM feature card. See “Installing a Concurrent KVM Feature
Card” on page 91.
v
I/O-expansion card. See “Installing a small-form-factor expansion card” on
page 93, “Installing a standard-form-factor expansion card” on page 95, and
“Installing a high-speed expansion card” on page 96.
v Hard disk drives. See “Installing a SAS hard disk drive” on page 86.
v
Microprocessors and heat sinks. See “Installing a microprocessor and heat
sink” on page 103.
v DIMMs. See “Installing a memory module” on page 88.
2. If a Memory and I/O Expansion Blade was not removed from the blade server in
order to replace the system board, install the power jumper (see “Installing the
power jumper” on page 100).
3. Install the bezel assembly (see “Installing the bezel assembly” on page 84).
4. Install the Memory and I/O Expansion Blade, if one was removed from the blade
server in order to replace the system board (see “Installing an expansion unit”
on page 83).
5. Install the blade server cover (see “Installing the blade server cover” on page
81).
6. Install the blade server into the BladeCenter unit (see “Installing the blade
server in a BladeCenter unit” on page 78).
