5. Install the left-side cover (see “Replacing the left-side cover” on page 101).
6. Lock the left-side cover.
7. Reconnect the external cables and power cords; then, turn on the attached
devices and turn on the server.
Installing a redundant power supply
To install the redundant power, complete the following steps:
1. Read the safety information that begins on page vii and “Installation guidelines”
on page 32.
2. Remove the left-side cover (see “Removing the left-side cover” on page 36 for
more information).
Attention: To ensure proper system cooling, do not leave the cover off the
server for more than 2 minutes.
3. Slide the new power supply partially into the empty power-supply bay. Pinch the
orange release latch and push the power supply the rest of the way into the bay
until it is seated.
