Service Guide
5. Remove the front bezel of the CPU enclosure. If you need more information to remove
the front bezel, refer to the “Front Bezel and Front Access Plate” removal procedure on
page 4-15.
CAUTION:
The unit weighs between 32 kg (70 pounds) and 55 kg (121.2 pounds). Three persons
are required to safely lift the unit. Using less than three persons to lift the unit can
result in injury.
6. Lift the CPU enclosure onto the support rails, and slide it slowly into the rack until the
front of the CPU enclosure rests against the nut clips on the rack.
Attention: Do not lift the CPU enclosure by its front bezel.
Note: If the CPU enclosure cannot be easily slid completely into the rack, check to see if
the enclosure is caught on the retainer brackets previously installed on the rack. If
the retainer brackets are in the way, hold them away from the CPU enclosure while
slowly pushing the enclosure into the rack.
7. Using four (4) M5 x 14 hex head screws supplied with the CPU enclosure, attach the
CPU enclosure to the nut clips in the front of the rack at the sides.
8. Insert the retainer brackets into the slots in the CPU enclosure, then tighten the mounting
screws of the retainer brackets.
9. Install the power supplies or cooling fans. If you need more information to reinstall the
power supply, refer to the “Power Supply or Cooling Unit” Removal procedure on page
4-61 and reverse the procedure.
DANGER
An electrical outlet that is not correctly wired could place hazardous voltage
on metal parts of the system or the devices that attach to the system. It is the
responsibility of the customer to ensure that the outlet is correctly wired and
grounded to prevent an electrical shock.
Before installing or removing any additional devices to or from the system,
ensure that the power cables for those devices are unplugged before the signal
cables are connected. If possible, disconnect all power cables from the existing
system before you add a device.
Use one hand, when possible, to connect or disconnect signal cables to prevent a
possible shock from touching two surfaces with different electrical potentials.
During an electrical storm, do not connect cables for display stations, printers,
telephones, or station protectors for communications lines.
Attention: Ensure that you complete the replacement of the power supply before plugging
in the power supply power cord. Plugging in the power cord before completing the power
supply replacement can cause possible data loss.
10. Attach the rear panel of the CPU enclosure.
11. Attach the front bezel of the CPU enclosure. If you need more information to reinstall the
front bezel, refer to the “Front Bezel and Front Access Plate” removal procedure on page
4-15 and reverse the procedure.
12. Attach the power supply cord.
