Chapter 14 Data Storage – Setup, Edit, &
View Groups

14.1 Introduction to Group (spreadsheet) format

Data is stored in the

BOLTSCOPE PRO

in a spreadsheet like format called a

GRID

. A

GRID

is simply a table of readings. In the case of the

BOLTSCOPE

PRO

they will be discussed in terms of a

GROUP

. The location in a group is

specified by giving a row and column coordinate. The rows are numbered from 1
to 99 and the columns are labeled from A to Z, then AA to ZZ giving a maximum
of 52 possible columns.

The largest grid that can be held in the

BOLTSCOPE PRO

can contain

250

bolts,

Unloaded length

(L-REF)

, and

Elongations. Multiple groups can be

created and stored until the

BOLTSCOPE PRO

’s memory is full. If the user

attempts to store a grid in the

BOLTSCOPE PRO

when the memory is full, the

BOLTSCOPE PRO

will respond with an error message indicating that the

memory is unable to store the new group.

The

MVX

can store a total of

8,000 readings

with a corresponding waveform

stored with every reading. The

Display Views

and

Quantities

can be toggled

for each and every possible option of the

BOLTSCOPE PRO

, provided that the

correct factors have been entered into the gauge and are being used. To make
this as clear as possible, the

Display Views (RF, RECT, and DIGITS)

can be

toggled with any stored measurement. Also, the

Quantities (Time, Elong,

Load, Stress, and %Strain)

can be toggle with any stored measurement.

Therefore, the data recordation of BOLTSCOPE PRO is an extremely powerful
tool for purposes of documentation.

14.2 Creating a new Group
