12.9 Automatic echo optimization

The

BOLTSCOPE PRO

is equipped with a built in Auto Set feature for echo

optimization. The

Auto Set

uses a variety of algorithms, evaluating the positive

and negative and negative cycles, and selects the best phase (polarity) to use for
measurement. It also optimizes the gain, sets the delay and width, and activates
and sets the gate accordingly. Use of this feature will save the user a great deal
of time in the measurement process. In order to use the

Auto Set

properly, an

approximate length of the bolt must be entered into the

BOLTSCOPE PRO

. The

approximate length tells the

BOLTSCOPE PRO

where to start looking for the

echo. The

BOLTSCOPE PRO

will search

+/- 5%

from the value entered. The

following procedures outline the

Auto Set

feature.
