6.3.4 Preparing for ultrasonic extraction

Ultrasonic extraction is an optional operating mode which you can

only perform if your CTU is equipped with ultrasound, for details

The principle of ultrasonic effect is the conversion of the electrical

energy generated by the high-frequency generator into mechanical

vibrations by means of the ultrasonic vibration systems.

The vibrations transmitted to the test liquid cause microscopic cav-

ities to be formed constantly, which then always implode. This ef-

fect, referred to as

cavitation

, causes contamination to be removed

and accelerates the physical process.

NOTICE

Protective gloves in the ultrasonic bath

The protective gloves will be damaged/destroyed

Remove the protective gloves from the test liquid during ultra-

sonic operation.

Pull the protective gloves out through the opening.
