6.3.4.1 Performing ultrasonic extraction
To perform the ultrasonic test in the ultrasonic bath, proceed as
follows:

Ultrasonic extraction has been prepared, for details, see Pre-
paring for ultrasonic extraction [

Determine the Negative control value, for details, see Deter-
mining the negative control value - Settings/parameters

ü Prepare the test item according to VDA19 Part 1.
1. Place the test item in the corresponding component recepta-
cle.
2. Close the door and lock it.
3. Select the desired extraction parameters for ultrasonic ex-
traction in the user interface and start the ultrasonic extrac-
tion.
4. Select the desired extraction parameter for rinsing the test
item in the user interface and start the extraction.
5. Select the desired extraction parameters for rinsing the ex-
traction chamber in the user interface and start the extrac-
tion.
6. The test liquid, loaded with the partially rinsed off particulate
contamination, is drawn across the filter membrane using a
vacuum.
7. Wait until the test liquid has been fully suctioned through the
filter membrane.
8. Remove the filter membrane from the filter membrane holder
in order to analyze/evaluate it.
9. Open the door and remove the test item.
O The ultrasonic extraction is complete.
