6 Service and Maintenance
The user must perform the maintenance work described in this chapter. Any service
work described in the service plan
(see chapter 6.2 on page 6-2)
or not described in the
user manual must be performed by authorised service engineers.
These maintenance procedures must be performed to keep the instrument in a prop-
er working condition. Any deviations may lead to false results.
6.1 Maintenance Schedule
The maintenance work described below has to be performed by the user whenever
necessary , at least, however, in the intervals specified below.
6.1.1 Daily Maintenance Procedure
Start up
1. Check the system liquid container level.
2. Empty and clean the waste container for tips (see chapter 5.3.3 on page 5-7) .
3. Check the waste container liquid level, empty and clean if necessary.
4. Check the level of washing solution and distilld water in the washer bottle.
5. Check the needles of the washing head and clean using the cleaning tools if
necessary.
6. Clean the instrument surface if necessary.
7. Start the system first and then the Computer.
8. Start the Phoenix software only when the RDY LED on the instrument is
ON.
9. Perform the selftest:
The selftest starts and will be executed automatically.
10. Check if selftest is passed.
End of work
1. Close the finished worklist.
2. Close the Phoenix software.
3. Close Windows 95/2000 and shut off computer, monitor and printer.
4. Switch the ELISYS QUATTRO off.
5. Remove reagent and patient racks.
6. Remove all used dilution tubes.
6.1.2 Weekly Maintenance Procedure
Procedure 1. Change the system liquid fluid.
