l
Set the IP address of the GE service port in the production center and the IP address of that
in the disaster recovery center.
l
Add a virtual IP address respectively to the production center and the disaster recovery
center. The virtual IP address of the production center must be in the same network segment
with the IP address of the GE service port. The same applies to the disaster recovery center.
l
Create a disk group respectively in the production center and the disaster recovery center.
The names of the disk groups must be the same.
l
Create two volumes respectively in the disk group of the production center and that of the
disaster recovery center. One volume serves as the data volume, and the other serves as the
log volume. The data volume of the production center and that of the disaster recovery
center must have the same name and size. The same applies to the log volumes.
l
Add logs for the data volume.
NOTE
l
When creating a remote replication, you can bind multiple designated GE service interfaces to increase
the bandwidth and realize redundancy. For the balance-rr binding mode, you are recommended to bind
only two GE service ports when adding a bond to realize the optimal performance. If a certain packet
loss ratio is tolerable, select UDP; otherwise, select TCP.
l
If multiple production centers share one disaster recovery center and you need to add bound ports in
the disaster recovery center, the recommended number of new ports after ports are bound is no more
than three.
l
The virtual IP address of the production center can be added in the
Create Replicate Volume
Group
wizard.
l
The operation of creating a replicate volume group must be performed on the primary controller of the
production center.
l
The volume that has created snapshots and mirrors cannot be used to create data replication.
Context
CAUTION
After a replicate volume group is created in the production center, time deviation exists between
the snapshots of the replicate volume group during a data replication process. You are
recommended not to create snapshots in the replicate volume group of the production center.
