Q
Influence of the temperature of the sample
With the polarographic method adopted by the converter, readings are affected by the
temperature of the sample.
There are two reasons for this fact: (1) as the diffusion coefficient depends on the
temperature, the obtained diffusion current also changes (2) the chemical equilibration of the
hypochlorous acid depends on the temperature. In order to eliminate the influence by the
temperature of the sample, the converter continuously measures the temperature of the
sample and corrects for the temperature by using the function, for which the above two
influences are taken into consideration.
Q
Interferences contained in samples
The converter performs measurement of the free residual chlorine concentration using
electrochemical reactions. The residual chlorine measurement will be interfered with by the
metallic ions (Fe, Mn), reductants like thiosulfuric acid and oxidants like ozone or hydrogen
peroxide.
