Overview
This is a residual chlorine meter with no chemical treatment to the sample. The main
components are the transmitter HR-200RT, the detector unit, measuring cell and some
peripheral units. It is suitable to monitor the residual chlorine concentration for those samples;
city water, swimming pool water, public bath and DI water plant using hypochlorite for
sterilization. The measuring range is 0 mg/L to 3 mg/L for residual chlorine and 0
°
C to 45
°
C.
The measuring principle is 3-pole polarograph method with the gold cathode electrode, silver
anode electrode and silver/silver chloride reference electrode. The temperature is measured
to compensate sensitivity influenced by sample temperature. If the sample pH is not steady,
the function to compensate the influence by pH is provided with the information from the pH
meter aside via RS-485 digital communication.
The replaceable cathode electrode attached to the rotating shaft is always polished in the
ceramic beads to be protected from metal plating on the surface.
The zero point is calibrated by the water through activated carbon filter. The manual operation
needs to change the line to pass the water through the activated carbon filter manually and
confirm the reading is near to zero before zero calibration. The sampling pipe works with the
optional solenoid valve will change the line periodically and automatically for zero calibration.
The sensitivity is calibrated by the way to match measured value to the analyzed value by
adjusting the coefficient.
The two line analog outputs transmit the trend of residual chlorine and temperature. The
output range of the current 1 is selectable by the external contact. The four contacts output the
upper or lower alarm for residual chlorine and temperature, control signal for residual chlorine,
holding signal, calibrating signal and error signal.
Those peripheral units are provided; the filter unit to remove dust, the flow switch to detect
flow, the flow meter unit to measure sample flow rate, the activated carbon filter unit to remove
residual chlorine, the auto zero calibration unit to control line for zero calibration.
