Thermal Switch
Purpose:
These devices are intended to protect equipment and sensors only in case of unintended
extreme conditions. Tripping of these devices indicates abnormal behavior. Diagnose and
adjust the operation of the scanner.
The cable end temperature limit switch disables power to the cabinet subsystems in case
of temperatures exceeding 65 °C (149 °F) at the switch location.
The head temperature reporting causes sheet guide and air wipe heaters to be disabled at
a temperature of 55 °C (131 °F), and commands heads offsheet.
The thermal switch and temperature reporting of the air wipe heater body allows power to
be disconnected in case of no or low air flow through heater.

Motor Torque
The motor torque is set at the factory and confirmed at installation. It is set to ensure that
the heads can be stopped manually with moderate force from an individual, while still
having enough torque for smooth scanning. This limits the potential harm to an individual.
Refer to your scanner maintenance manual for more information. If needed, authorized
and qualified personnel can adjust the motor torque.
