TRANSPORTATION

When using a truck or wagon to transport your
motorcycle, follow the instructions below.

•

Use a ramp to place the motorcycle on the
transportation vehicle.

•

Make sure the fuel cock is OFF.

•

Keep the motorcycle in the upright position by using
appropriate attaching straps. Do not use ropes.
They may untie during transportation causing the
motorcycle to fall.

•

Shift the transmission into gear during transportation.

To maintain the motorcycle firmly in place, support the
front wheel on the deck front end of the transportation
vehicle. Tie the lower ends of the attaching straps to
the vehicle hooks. Tie the upper ends (one on the right
and one the left) next to the fork legs. Make sure the
attaching straps are not interfering with the control
cables, fairing and wiring harness.
The attaching straps should be tightened until the front
suspension becomes partially compressed (at least
half of its stroke). Avoid excessive pressure to
prevent damage to the fork retainers.
Secure the attaching straps firmly to prevent them
from untying during transportation.
Use another strap to prevent the rear of the
motorcycle from moving.
Do not lay the motorcycle on the vehicle for
transportation. Besides damaging the motorcycle,
it may cause fuel leakage, which is dangerous.
