Drive Chain

(Refer to “Maintenance Precautions” on page 60.)

Drive chain service life depends upon proper
lubrication and adjustment. Poor maintenance can
cause premature wear or damage to the drive chain
and sprockets.
The drive chain should be inspected and lubricated as
part of the Pre-ride Inspection (page 46) and its
maintenance performed as specified in the
Maintenance Schedule (page 58). Under severe riding
conditions, or when the motorcycle is ridden in
unusually dusty or muddy areas, more frequent
servicing will be necessary.

Inspection
1. Turn the engine off, place the motorcycle on its

main stand (CG150 Titan KS/ES/ESD/CG150 Job) or
side stand (CG150 Sport) and shift the transmission
into neutral.

2. Check the drive chain (1) slack in the lower drive

chain run midway between the sprockets. Drive
chain slack should be adjusted to allow the following
vertical movement by hand: 20 – 30 mm
(0.8 – 1.2 in).
