NOTE
Remember to check that the fuel cock is in the ON
position each time you refuel. If left in RES, you may
run out of fuel with no reserve.
O N
With the fuel cock in the ON position, fuel will flow
from the main fuel supply to the carburetor.
O F F
With the fuel cock in the OFF position, fuel will not flow
from the tank to the carburetor. Turn the cock off
whenever the motorcycle is not in use.
RES
With the fuel cock in the RES position, fuel will flow
from the reserve fuel supply to the carburetor. Use the
reserve fuel only when the main supply runs out. Refill
the tank as soon as possible after switching to RES.
The reserve fuel supply is approximately: 2.0
l
(0.52 US gal, 0.44 Imp. gal) (reference amount).
Fuel Tank
The fuel tank capacity including the reserve supply is
14.0
l (3.70 US gal, 3.08 Imp. gal). To open the fuel
filler cap (1), open the lock cover, insert the ignition
key (2) and turn it clockwise. The fuel filler cap pops
up and can be lifted off.
Recommended fuel: Regular Gasoline (without additive)
Damages caused by the use of gasoline with additive
from trustworty fuel suppliers have not been observed.
However, this motorcycle was designed to use regular
gasoline from a reliable supplier, without additives.
After refueling, close the fuel filler cap. Align the latch
in the cap with the slot in the filler neck. Push the fuel
filler cap into the filler neck until it snaps closed and
locks. Remove the key and close the lock cover.

If “spark knock” or “pinging” occurs at a steady engine
speed under normal load, change the gasoline brand.

If spark knock or pinging persists, see your
authorized Honda dealer. Failure to do so is
considered misuse. Honda Limited Warranty will not
cover damages caused by misuse.
