Protective Apparel

1. Most motorcycle accident fatalities happen due to

head injuries.
ALWAYS WEAR A HELMET. If it is an open-type
helmet, you should wear a face shield or goggles. It
is also important to wear boots, gloves and
protective clothing. The passenger needs the same
protection.

2. The exhaust system becomes hot during operation,

and it remains hot for a while after stopping the
engine. Be careful not to touch the exhaust system
while it is hot. Wear clothing that fully covers your
legs.

3. Do not wear loose clothing. They could catch on the

control levers, footpegs, drive chain or wheels.

Precaution with Floods

When riding in flooded places and streams, do not
allow water to enter the air cleaner. The inflow of water
in the engine may cause a hydraulic shim effect, which
will damage the engine.
If water enters the oil pan, it will contaminate the
lubricating oil. If this occurs, turn the engine off
immediately. Change the oil at an authorized Honda
dealer to make sure the water in the engine is
eliminated and proper maintenance is performed.
