Owner’s Manual

3. Loosen the drive chain lock nuts (4) and adjusting

nuts (5).

4. Remove the axle nut (6) and pull out the rear axle

(7). Push the wheel forward and remove the drive
chain from the rear sprocket.

5. Pull out the wheel from the swingarm.

Installation
Follow the removal procedure in the reverse order.
1. Make sure the swingarm (9) groove (8) is positioned

in the brake panel boss (10).

2. Tighten the rear axle nut to the specified torque.

TORQUE: 78 – 98 N.m (7.8 – 9.8 kgf.m, 57 – 71 lbf.ft)

3. Adjust the drive chain slack (page 69) and the rear

brake (page 28).

4. Apply the brake several times and check for free

wheel rotation after the brake pedal is released.
Recheck the wheel if the brake drags or the wheel
does not rotate freely.

If a torque wrench is not used for installation, see
your authorized Honda dealer as soon as possible to
check for proper assembly. Improper assembly may
lead to loss of braking effectiveness.
