4.2 Starting and Stopping DICOM and Processing Services
The Services section of the System Control screen allows you to start and stop the
DICOM and Processing services.
•
The DICOM service controls the transfer of images from the DICOM sources into the
server and the transfer of results to the destination devices. If you stop the DICOM
service, the Processing service stops automatically.

The Processing service controls the processing of the images once they have been
received by the server. If you stop the Processing service alone, the DICOM service
will continue to accept images. If
both
services are stopped and you start the
Processing service alone, the DICOM service will start automatically since it is
required for Processing to be fully functional.
The application displays a message that prompts you to restart Processing and DICOM
services after you change various configuration settings. If you are changing several
settings, you do not have to restart the services until all settings have been configured.
To stop or start the services:

System Control
. The System Control screen appears:

Click either one or both of the
Stop
buttons, depending upon which function(s) you
want to stop. (Clicking the DICOM Stop button stops both the DICOM and
Processing services.) When both services are stopped, the Control Panel displays:
