Combining Images in a Case
The Combine Images In Processed Case setting affects how the server uses the
Maximum End of Case Timeout to manage the inflow of images. The setting (and the
Maximum End of Case Timeout) applies only to ImageChecker CAD (2D) and
Biomarker results, and only to images with the same DICOM study instance UID.
If the server receives images with the same study instance UID within the Maximum
End of Case Timeout period, then the server groups the images together and transmits
the results for those images in a single CAD SR object. This behavior is true whether or
not the box is checked.
If the box is
unchecked
and the server receives one or more images with the same study
instance UID after the timeout has elapsed, then the server creates a new case and
transmits results based on only the images received after the timeout elapsed.
For example:
1.
The technologist sends a case with four screening views to the server. The server
processes the case and sends the results (Mammography CAD SR) to the review
workstation. However, the RCC image is unusable because it shows motion blur.
2.
The physician orders a repeat of the RCC view. The server receives the new RCC
image after the timeout elapses and creates a new case with the new RCC view.
3.
At the review workstation, two Mammography CAD SR objects are available. The
first includes the original four screening views. The second contains results for just the
new RCC view. The two CAD SR objects are distinguishable by the date and time the
server produced the results.
