Important information
• Please use only original mains adapters to operate the
devices. Should one of the mains adapters be faulty at
any time, please contact your specialist dealer. Use of
other mains adapters may seriously damage the devic-
es if polarity (+/-) and voltage levels are wrong.
• A faulty mains adapter cannot be repaired, the con-
necting cable cannot be replaced, the mains adaptor
must be disposed of immediately.
that the voltage on the mains adapter nameplate cor-
responds to your mains voltage).
3. Switch on the transmitter by pressing the On/Off key
for approx. 5 seconds.
4. The transmitter now attempts to establish contact
with the receiver. The green fl ashing operating light
indicates this. After starting up the receiver as de-
scribed under “6.2 Starting the receiver”, and when
communication between the transmitter and receiver
has been established, the operating light remains
green.
6.2
Starting the receiver
Note! Please ensure that the enclosed batteries are in-
serted correctly and are fully charged before using the
device. If not, proceed as described under “5. Before
start-up”.
1. Position the receiver upright, near you.
2. Switch on the receiver by pressing the On/Off key for
approx. 5 seconds.
3. The operating light initially fl ashes green. As soon as
communication between transmitter and receiver is
established, the operating light remains steady green
on both transmitter and receiver.
Note! During charging the operating light on the
receiver alternately fl ashes green and orange.
4. Use the volume keys to set the volume of the receiver
as required. The receiver (LED chain) visually indi-
cates the current volume. Low volume is indicated by
one LED, maximum volume by four LEDs.
Note! Set the volume to the lowest level for silent
monitoring (LED fl ashes).
5. The receiver has a visual reception display on the
face. A received sound is indicated acoustically as
well as visually via the reception display (LED chain).
The stronger the sound received, the more LEDs will
light up.
Use the enclosed order form to purchase ad-
ditional original mains adapters for the receiv-
er and the transmitter.
7.
Testing the functions
It is very important to test proper functioning of the baby
call system before initial use. To do this, set up the trans-
mitter in the room to be monitored and switch on a radio
at modest volume, for instance. Then walk through your
rooms with your receiver and set the volume as required.
8.
Talkback function
You can comfort your baby from a distance by using the
talkback function on the receiver. Ensure that the operat-
ing lights on the transmitter and receiver are green (refer
“6. Start-up”). Use the volume keys on the transmitter to
set the volume as required.
Press and hold the talkback key on the receiver, speak
clearly into the receiver and release the talkback key.
Note! Whilst the talkback key on the receiver is pressed
down, no transmitted sound can be heard on the re-
ceiver.
9.
Night light function
The transmitter has an additional night light function.
Since babies often cry in the dark, the transmitter has a
night light which has a calming effect on your baby.
The night light function can be switched on or off by
means of an On/Off key on the transmitter or receiver.
To switch on, press the night light’s On/Off key on the
transmitter or receiver for about four seconds. To switch
off, press the On/Off key on the transmitter or receiver
for about one second.
10.
Battery monitor
The receiver will indicate if the battery voltage is low dur-
ing battery operation. The receiver’s operating light will
fl ash orange if the voltage is too low. In this case, charge
the receiver as described under “5.2 Charging the re-
ceiver batteries”.
11.
Range
In view of the physical propagation laws of radio waves,
the range of your baby call device must be tested in your
surroundings. Under ideal conditions, a range of up to
300 m is possible. The actual range depends mainly on
the local conditions, however. The location of the trans-
mitter, the type of building or the atmospheric conditions
should, for instance, be taken into account. Further-
more, the range could be restricted if you cover the re-
ceiver in your hands.
12.
Range alarm
If the receiver is outside the transmitter’s range, the
green operating lights on the transmitter and receiver will
fl ash. The range alarm is activated a few seconds after
contact with the receiver is lost.
13.
Channel selection
In acc. with the DECT standard, the MBF 9050 offers dy-
namic channel selection and distribution. If a new chan-
nel is required, the baby call system automatically se-
lects a new channel with less interference.
14.
Paging function
Should the receiver be misplaced, you can trace it using
the paging function.
1. First test for communication between transmitter and
receiver. This will be indicated by a green operating
light on the transmitter.
2. Press the transmitter’s On/Off key for about one sec-
ond to activate the paging function.
