3.3 Terms and definition
CW
Clockwise rotation, forward ration
applicable to rotary file
CCW
Counterclockwise rotation, reverse rotation
applicable to special files / lentilospirals to inject
calcium hydroxide or any other intracanal
medicaments or root canal sealers
REC
Reciprocating motion
Applicable to reciprocating file, path file and
to prevent rotary file separation by setting
some special angle.
ATR
Adaptive torque reverse
Up on setting torque, the motor will function in
reciprocating ATR mode; as the torque reduces
to normal value, the motor will function in
rotation mode.
Forward Angle Angle of clockwise rotation of the file.
Reverse Angle Angle of counterclockwise rotation of the file.
EAL
Electronic apex locator
In this mode, the device functions as a stand-
alone apex locator
AP Apical foramen.
Apical Action
The file action when file tip reaches the flash bar
point.
Flash Bar Position
Shows the point inside the canal where specified
apical action is triggered.
Auto Start
The file starts rotating automatically when the file
is inserted in the canal.
Auto Stop
The file stops rotating automatically when the file
is of the canal.
