Appendix F: Emergency power supply battery capacity
Refer to local standards for backup power standby time (T
idle
) and max. power time (T
max
)!
eXentro C48 Charger
:
Continuous output current: 150 A (at 48 VDC) max.
Battery capacity: 225 Ah max.
As long as the eXentro C48 is powered from 230 VAC the DC outputs can deliver up to 12 A;
when the current draw is above 12 A battery, power will be consumed! This only happens when
for example an amplifier is disconnected from 230 VAC and needs to deliver output power, while
operating from 48 VDC and current draw exceeds 12 A.
* NOTE:
current consumption is measured using a slow whoop signal based on a triangle wave
signal (4.77 dB crest factor).
** NOTE:
current consumption measured using a pre-recorded message (12 dB crest factor).
Emergency signals:
Below show examples of slow whoop and pre-recorded message signals, used to indicate the
calculation of the required battery capacity.
Slow whoop:
Compensation for effective duration of slow whoop (C
sw
): 0.875 (0.5s OFF + 3.5s ON = 87.5%)
