DS1-2CS and DS1-4CS Overview

The DS1-2CS and the DS1-4CS LIMs are 2- and 4-port DS1 LIMs with
voice capability that can be used with a variety of controllers listed in

Table 1-4

Front Panel Indicators

•

LED illuminates when the link is in-service.

•

LED illuminates when there is a receive loss of signal alarm

for the link.

•

LED illuminates during loopback tests; Blinks when the link

hardware detects an out-of-frame error on the receive line.

Front Panel Connectors

•

LINK 0

and

LINK 1

on the DS1-2CS LIM are female DB-15

connectors for the Link 0 and Link 1 T1 transmit and receive line.

•

LINK 2

and LINK 3

on the DS1-4CS

LIM are female DB-15 connectors for the Link 0, Link 1, Link 2
and Link 3 T1 transmit and receive lines, respectively.

Cabling

•

The DS1-2CS and DS1-4CS LIM uses one 100-ohm shielded
twisted pair each for transmit and receive, following

law.

Maximum insertion loss is approximately 2.8 db at 772 kHz (655-
feet of 22 AWG wire). The cables are terminated with a male DB-
15 connector.
