To add a new user, the Add New PTP Clock button must be used. When clicking at the
button, the PTP clock configuration field will open a new entry, to be configured.
Possible configurations are as follows.
o
Delete
: click at the button to delete PTP clock instance at the row;
o
Clock Instance
: indicates instance identifier. Allowed values are
integer numbers from 0 to 3;
o
Device Type
: indicates clock type at the instance. Possible values
are as follows:
Ord-Bound
: clock configured at this instance will be a
boundary clock on the network. That is, this switch will
synchronize its PTP clock to the master clock at the
Boundary port and will output (in a different instance and
different ports) PTP synchronization messages based on
its own PTP internal clock;
p2p Transp
: clock configured at this instance will be a
Transparent clock with delay mechanism defined as peer-
to-peer. That is, this instance will add its own processing
delay at the message and will forward PTP messages on
ports configured to be a part of this instance;
e2e Transp:
clock configured at this instance will be a
Transparent clock with delay mechanism defined as end-
to-end. That is, this instance will forward the message on
ports configured to be a part of this instance and network
delay will be calculated from all network way, like NTP
protocol in layer 3 applications;
Master Only
: clock configured at this instance will be
Master only, that is, switch will be the Grandmaster clock
of the network. This function is allowed only if hardware
has GPS reception module;
T1000, S2020 and S2024G switches hardware does not support Master Only operation. Thus, Master Only configuration does
not take effect.
Slave Only:
clock configured at this instance will be Slave
only, that is, switch will only synchronize its internal clock
with PTP messages received.

2 Step Flag
: enable two-step operation in time-stamping process.
Values allowed are True and False. If true, instance will do time-
stamping process in two-step mode, that is, time will be informed
by software. If false, instance will do time-stamping process in one-
step mode, that is, time will be informed by hardware.
