Power Adjustment
Use the following procedures to turn lasers [ON], [OFF], or to generate a [Tone] signal (270 Hz , 1 KHz,
or 2 KHz) and adjust the [Continuous Wave - CW] signal. Refer to Figure 3-4 for a related illustration.
Note:
Every operating test mode allows you to access the [POWER ADJUSTMENT] screen and perform
the [Continuous Wave - CW] signal adjustment, but to turn lasers [ON], [OFF] or to generate a [Tone]
signal (270 Hz, 1 KHz, 2 KHz), you need to enable the [OPM] test mode.
If lasers have been adjusted since last OLTS and/or ORL referencing , references need to be reset after
adjustment.
Turning Lasers On/Off and Generating a Tone Signal
1 Enable the [OPM] test mode, then press the [MENU] key to display the [OPM MAIN MENU]
screen.
2 Use either [UP] or [DOWN] arrow key to highlight the [OTHER FUNCTIONS] option.
3 Press the [SELECT] soft key to access the [OTHER FUNCTIONS] screen.
4 The [POWER ADJUST] option is highlighted by default.
5 Press the [SELECT] soft key to display the adjustment sub-screen.
6 Attach the APC connector on the reference cable to the Test Port.
7 Attach the UPC connector on the reference cable to the OPM Port.
8 Press the [

soft key to select the laser to be adjusted.
9 Press the [OFF /ON/ 270/ 1K/ 2K] soft key to turn the selected laser [ON], [OFF], or to generate a
[Tone] signal (270 Hz, 1 KHz, 2 KHz).
10 When all adjustments are done, press the [BACK] key to return to the OTHER FUNCTIONS
screen.
