Laser safe t y
The standard reference for lase r safety is the American Standard for the
Safe Use of Lasers, Z136.1 -2000, de veloped b y the American Na tiona l
Standards Institute (ANSI). This reference is the ba sis for man y of the
federal regulations for laser and lase r system manufacturers, and for the
Occupationa l Safety and Health Admin istration (OSHA) la ser safety
guideline s. It conta i ns detailed information conce rning p roper installation
and use of laser systems. W hile the ANSI standa rd itself does not ha ve
the force of la w, its recommendations, including warn ing signage, train ing,
and the designatio n of a laser safety officer, ma y be co mpulsory unde r
local wo rkpla ce reg ulations when ope rating lase r systems above Cla ss I.
It is the operator’s responsibility to ensure that the installation and
operation of the FSL3D Pegasus Touch is pe rformed in a ccordance with
