○ You may use 220-1500 sandpaper to sand away any unwanted
marks after the mo del is fully d ry.
○ Clean sanding dust from the model with isopropyl alcohol.
○ You may want to clear-coat or paint the model as desired.
● Wash the build platform with isopropyl alcohol. Allow to dry. You
should wa sh the platform right a wa y a fter each print. Lea ving it
expo sed to air will make it ve ry ha rd to clean la ter.
○ You don’t need to wash the platform if you use the same resin
for you r ne xt p rin ts. In this case, put the platform back in the
printe r right a wa y.
Post-cu ring
Printed ob jects are by design cured to about 90% strength to e xtend
the useful life of the non -stick la ye r of the vat.
To cure fully, you may p lace the mod els in sunli ght after cleaning
them.
Placing mode ls in sunlight to cure ma y cause the models to turn
slightly yello w as sunlight con tains a wide spe ctrum of light that
breaks do wn co lor additive s in the re sin .
Alternative ly, to p reserve the be st co lor (o r transpa rency) of the
model, cure the mo del under a 285nm UV light sou rce , e.g. a
Phillips 325126 bulb (Amazon B00172 Y0 H4). After it is cured under
285nm light, apply an anti-UV clear co at such as Krylon 1 305 to
best prese rve colo r (Amazon B00397STRW ).
Repair Imperfect Prints
Follo w instructions belo w to repair imperfect models. Rep air can only be
done for small hole s or fractu res.
Prepare: A toothpick, re sin, natu ral su nlight (or a 405nm laser
pointer), 220-1500 grit sand pa per
Dip the toothp ick in the resin and fill th e hole complete ly with the
resin . Try to be a ccurate in o rder to re duce sanding later on. Do the
same to glue parts and put them together.
Leave the model in the sun to cu re. You may instead use a lase r
pointer, which is faster.
Once fully cu red, sand the area to cre ate a smooth surface. W ash
with IPA to clean off any dust.
