Facility Code
is a value used as a global address to identify a single installation of a Frontier system. Code can
range from 1 to 65,000 and is global to all Frontier radios communicating with the Gateway. This value is part of the
addressing used by the Frontier radios.
Transmitter ID (Tx ID)
is part of the Frontier transmitter addressing. A complete address is a combination of the
Frontier transmitter ID number, the transmitter or receiver’s point number on a Frontier unit, and the facility code.
Transmitter ID can range from 1 to 65,000. A Frontier field receiver has no Tx ID but is programmed with a Tx ID ref-
erence in order for it to respond to its related transmitters.
Point Number
can be 1 through 4 and is dependent on the type of Frontier field device. It identifies the Frontier field
devices targeted (addressed) data point. Some devices have one only or two points. This value is part of the address-
ing used by the Frontier radios.
Note: A full Frontier address constructed by the local processor is facility code, transmitter ID, and point
number.
I
nputs
are Gateway inputs received from the LON network (NVI). They are the data transmitted to the Frontier field
receivers.
Outputs
are Gateway outputs sent to the LON network (NVO). They are the received data from the Frontier field
transmitters.
Lost Signal Response
is a value used to inform the local processor how to handle a lost signal from a field transmit-
ter. The lost signal response is valid only for outputs (NVO). A loss-of-signal is based on the maximum time interval
and is outlined below. The data value will be forced to a known value listed in "loss-of-signal-response" in Table 3.
Point Type
is the type of point (analog, digital, etc.) of the related field receiver or transmitter. Refer to the Frontier
in Table 2 for setting this value. Note that this selection affects the scaling of the data. If incorrectly set, the resulting
transmitted or received data may be incorrect.
Upper Limit, Lower Limit
are the values used by the local processor for scaling data from the Frontier field devices.
Refer to Table 2, "Unit Type," for the correct values to enter. Digital (On/Off) must also be set based on this table.
Maximum Time Interval
(in seconds) is used for both NVI and NVO. For outputs (NVO), the local processor deter-
mines a loss-of-signal from a Frontier transmitter. If a transmission from a Frontier transmitter has not been received
within the time period (in seconds), the loss-of-signal condition will be set and the Lost Signal Response (above) will
be acted on. The maximum time interval for inputs (NVI) is used by the local processor to force a transmission to a
Frontier field receiver. If the LON Key has not made an update to the local processor within the time period, the local
processor will resend its last value.
