10. Charging the Flight Battery
Figure 4
Before the final assembly of the model, you should charge the flight battery (1). A suitable charging cable (2) and a
suitable balancer charger (3) are included in model‘s scope of delivery.
The 2-wire connection cable at the rechargeable battery (4) supplies the drive motor with power. This cable is later
connected to the flight controller in the model (also see figure 9).
The rechargeable battery is charged via the 3-pole connection cable (5), which is connected to the right output
socket of the balancer charger. The two snap tabs of the reverse-polarity protected connector must point upwards.
To charge the flight battery, connect the charging cable (2) to the balancer charter (3) and connect the two alligator
clamps (6) to a suitable 12 V direct current source (e.g. a car battery). Always observe the correct polarity. The red
alligator clamp must be connected to the plus, the black to the minus pole of the direct current source. If this is not
observed, the charger will be destroyed. Loss of guarantee/warranty!
Alternatively a suitable plug-in mains adapter can be connected to the balancer charger. The plug-in mains adapter
is not part of the delivery and must be procured separately. A matching plug-in mains adapter is available at www.
conrad.com in the accessories list of the model.
If the charger is connected to a 12 V-direct current source, the „Power-LED“ (7) lights up. Now connect the flight
battery (1) to the right socket of the charger. The LED „Charge“ (8) then flashes red to indicate that the flight battery
is being charged.
