Head Height
For calibration of a unit under test (DUT) at a different height than the Product, it
is necessary to make a head-height correction. The head-height correction is the
vertical difference between the reference plane of the DUT to the bottom of the
display on the Product in inches, millimeters, or centimeters. See Figure 9.
After the measurement is made, the measurement value is entered into the
Product (
Setup Menu>Measure Setup>Head Height
). From the Head Height
screen, the measurement units and as medium (N2, Air) can be set. Additionally,
the Head Height direction and uncertainty for the DUT, Auxiliary 1, and Auxiliary
2 chassis' can be set. Auxiliary Chassis 1 and 2 are available when an additional
chassis is connected to the primary chassis. Select ABOVE if the DUT is above
the Product and select BELOW if the DUT is below the Product.
Note
Failure to make a head-height correction can result in an inaccurate
pressure measurement.
