Troubleshooting the Device

Command: MAOUT <1 or 0>

Description: Force the Master Alarm ON (Logic Low) or OFF (Logic High)

Parameters: 1 (ON - Logic Low) or 0 (OFF - Logic High)

Response:   None.

Restrictions: None

Notes:  None.

Troubleshooting the Device

The following paragraphs describe an organized method of device troubleshooting. The
overall approach is to start with power-up self-test error codes and then proceed too
increasingly detailed procedures. Begin troubleshooting with “General Troubleshooting.”
These procedures locate about 90% of the device faults. The remaining faults require
sleuthing that is beyond the scope of this manual. For these cases, review Chapter 2
“Theory of Operation” and approach the difficulty in a logical manner adapting the
troubleshooting procedures, as required. As a last resort, contact Fluke (see Chapter 7) for
assistance.

General Troubleshooting

General troubleshooting uses the device response to self-test as a clue to the fault
location. If the device completes self-test and displays an error code on the front panel,
refer to Table 6-9. If the device appears dead and will not even self test, refer to
Table 6-10. If the device passes self test but is not operating correctly, then refer to
“Troubleshooting the A/D Converter PCA” for analog problems, and “Troubleshooting
the Sys/Ctrl PCA” for master alarm, trigger in, and trigger out problems.
