PACKAGING DANGEROUS GOODS
Must be securely padded to prevent movement
Battery poles must be taped over to prevent short circuits
Only one battery per package
The packaging must bear a hazard code and a UN number
Undamaged packaging can be reused
Follow all relevant regulations specified by the legal texts! The explanations in this training
manual are merely an aid and do not release the dealer from their duty of care.
DANGERS
Improper use, technical defects, or damage can result in an uncontrolled release of stored
energy.
Leaking vapors and substances are toxic and corrosive.
The batteries are therefore tested according to UN Model Regulations. See the battery’s safety
data sheet in the FAZUA Dealer area.
ADR SHIPPING
Those involved in transport according to the ADR (European Agreement concerning the
International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road) are packers, shippers, carriers, drivers,
unloaders, and consignees.
All persons involved in transport must be instructed in accordance with Chapter 1.3 of the ADR
(according to their area of work and responsibility).
These instructions must be carried out prior to each person assuming their respective tasks;
otherwise supervision is required by someone who is already familiar with the regulations.
Written records of this instruction taking place are to be kept and submitted to the competent
authorities upon request.
For lithium-ion batteries over 100 Wh, the regulations for the transport of dangerous goods by
road (ADR) apply to commercial transport.
EXCEPTION
If the battery is used in an e-bike, it is a “battery-powered vehicle or battery-operated device”
(UN number 3171). Only then is it NOT considered to be hazardous goods, which means that the
ADR regulations do not have to be complied with.
