Cleaning and care
To guarantee the long life of Fagor aluminium
products, we recommend following these sim-
ple cleaning and maintenance tips.
Aluminium kitchenware MUST NOT be
washed in an automatic or an industrial di-
shwasher.
The detergents used in the above
machines contain chemicals that damage
aluminium, causing irreversible discolora-
tion and corrosion.
The cookers must be left to cool down be-
fore each wash.
Sudden changes in tempera-
ture could cause deformations and irreparable
damage to the base, making it impossible for the
heat to be evenly distributed.
After each use, wash the element by hand
with a neutral soap and lukewarm water,
using a sponge or a soft cloth. Rinse it with
abundant water and dry it immediately to pre-
vent the formation of limescale stains.
To remove difficult stains or traces of food,
boil 4 parts water and 1 part lemon juice for 4
or 5 minutes. Then wash in the normal way. In
the case of adhered or burnt food, do not use
scrapers, sharp implements or metal spon-
ges, as they could scratch the base.
Do not use bleach or any other product that
contains chlorine or caustic soda such as
oven cleaners, which could damage the alu-
minium surface finish.
Aluminium kitchenware must be handled
and stored with care.
Bear in mind that alumi-
nium is not as resistant as stainless steel, and
excess weight or heavy blows could deform
the part. When storing the elements, place the
lids facing upward to prevent the accumula-
tion of foul odours inside them.
Lid.
Do not wash the cooker lid or any of its com-
ponents in the dishwasher. Clean the opening of
the vent (23) and the safety valve with a thin rod,
pressing the rod into it from inside the lid.
Body.
Depending on the foods and seasoning
used for cooking, and the mineral content of
the water used for cooking, stains could form,
and the base of the cooker could darken. This
has no effect on the foods or the operation of
the pressure cooker. To remove them, boil a
solution of 4 parts water and 1 part lemon jui-
ce in the cooker for 10 minutes and then wash
with a neutral soap and a scouring pad, and
rinse with abundant water. Never leave toma-
to sauce, salted water or any other food inside
the cooker, as this could cause corrosion.
Silicone rubber sealing ring.
The ring is
made of high-resistance silicone rubber.
Wash it with lukewarm water and soap every
time you wash the lid.
Knob.
If you use the cooker often, we recom-
mend you check the knob from time to time, in
case the bakelite surface is worn. If you observe
any cracks or fissures, it must be replaced.
WARNING:
The silicone rubber sea-
ling ring is considered worn when
steam the cooker starts to lose steam.
It must be replaced approximately
every 12-18 months to ensure the co-
rrect operation of the pressure cooker.
