INSTRUCTION MANUAL
Safety components and devices
The Fagor pressure cooker is designed with three safety devices. Please familiarise yourself
with these important safety systems and the way in which they work before using the pres-
sure cooker for the first time:
Rotating valve (22).
When the cooker has reached the operating pressure, the valve will
release the excess steam, maintaining the operating pressure inside it constant. We recom-
mend you take care to protect your hands when touching the vale, as it could become hot
when the steam is released.
Safety value (7).
If, for any reason, the valve becomes blocked or does not work and the
pressure inside the cooker increases, the safety valve will start to operate, letting out the
steam and balancing the pressure. If this occurs, remove the cooker from the heat, wait until
the pressure inside the cooker has dropped, open it and clean the operating valve with a neu-
tral soap and water using a thin rod.
Clamp bar (35).
If the above safety systems do not work, the clamp bar will allow the cooker
lid to be opened wide enough to release the excess pressure in the cooker. In this case, take
the cooker to an
Authorised Technical Service
to have it inspected. Do not use the cooker
until the problem has been solved.
Additional features
1
The pressure cooker is made from extra strong aluminium, and its use is recommended
for gas cookers. It is not recommended to use it on induction hobs.
2
The cooker releases steam during cooking, and so you should use the appropriate
quantity of water during cooking. The pressure cooker will operate on its own with the
correct amount of heat.
3
Cooking with this pressure cooker means that a higher percentage of minerals (Mg, Fe,
Ca, etc.) and vitamins (A y C) are retained than in traditional cooking.
